Twelfth Night after William Shakespeare by Chi*

蜷川幸雄氏演出で尾上菊五郎・菊之助ら歌舞伎役者が
出演した「ＮＩＮＡＧＡＷＡ十二夜」が3月24～28日に日英修好
150周年を記念してBarbican theatreで上演されます。

シェークスピアのロマンチックコメディーの代表作「十二夜」を基に、
菊之助の熱望を受けた蜷川氏が初めて歌舞伎演出に挑戦したもの。

友達がTV関係の仕事をしていて、今回はこちらの通訳もするそうです。
もうすでにチケットはほぼ売り切れ状態。

歌舞伎は人生の中で１回だけ見たことがあります。
トムの家族が日本に来た時に、日本の伝統的なものを味わってもらいたい
と思って一緒に見に行ったのが、最初で最後でした。

歌舞伎とシェイクスピア・・　なんだかおもしろうそう。
何とかチケット買って見に行きたいです。


















The traditional Japanese theatre, Kabuki, with Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night,

In my life, I've only watched Kabuki once which was when Tom's
mum and sister visited us in Japan. It was good.

Since then I haven't seen it, actually I haven't had an
opportunity to see it, so now I really want to go.

Unfortunately the tickets have nearly sold out but
a friend of mine, involved this event, told me that
they might sell more tickets at the last minute.
So I want this to happen!
